Asymmetric hydrogenation of (E)-dimethyl-2-acetamido-2-phenylvinylphosphonate is carried out in supercritical carbon (SC) dioxide and CH2Cl2 using Rh- and Ir-complexes with chiral phosphite-type ligands. It is demonstrated that Ir-catalysts dissolved in SC-CO2 provides with a high enantioselectivity (up to 98.5% ee) and high conversion. In the presence of Rh-catalysts only racemic product are formed.
