The works devoted to the processing of the pulp and paper industry wastes via environmentally benign supercritical water conversion are analyzed. The high efficiency of production of combustible gases above 873 K is demonstrated. Mechanisms of the conjugate conversion of organic and mineral components of wastes are considered. The main obstacles to the industrial implementation of the processes under consideration, such as plugging of pi pelines, salt deposition and corrosion of structural materials, are discussed.
