Key words: rapeseed oil hydrolysis, oleic acid oxidation, azelaic acid esterification, heterogeneous catalyst, supercritical conditions, 2-ethylhexyl ether
Three chemical stages of azelaic acid 2-ethylhexyl ester synthesis based on rapeseed oil were studied: hydrolysis of the initial oil, oxidation of oleic acid in the presence of palladium-containing heterogeneous catalyst, and esterification of azelaic acid. It is demonstrated that reactions hydrolysis and esterification can be efficiently carried out under supercritical conditions (523—653 K and 22.5—30 MPa).
