A synthesis of novel carborane-containing phosphites is carried out. Their efficiency as ligands in rhodium-catalyzed hydroformylation of alkenes in supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) is tested. It is demonstrated that in the presence of newly synthesized carboranylamidophosphites a high alkene conversion at low catalyst loading can be achieved. An improved regioselectivity is obtained in SC-CO2 medium compared to toluene.
